FOUNDER'S NOTE
After completing my degree in the United States, I returned to India and discovered something powerful: India’s folk art traditions are breathtakingly beautiful, yet the artists behind them were often unseen, underpaid, and undervalued. That contrast stayed with me, and became the foundation of Saussurea Art.

About Madhubani Art
Madhubani, also known as Mithila art, is a centuries-old folk painting tradition from Bihar, India.
It is known for its bold colors, intricate line work, and symbolic motifs drawn from nature, mythology, and everyday life.
Common themes include the Tree of Life, animals, birds, geometric patterns, and divine figures, each carrying cultural meaning passed down through generations.
Unlike modern decorative art, Madhubani paintings follow structured patterns and symbolic placement, where every element holds meaning rather than being purely aesthetic.
